We’re pleased to welcome Denys Haryachyy to FastNetMon as our Senior SDN Software Engineer.
Denys brings more than 20 years of experience in high-performance networking, software-defined networking, and data plane development, with deep expertise in VPP, DPDK, C, and AF_XDP.
Throughout his career, Denys has worked on demanding networking challenges where packet-processing performance, scalability, and reliability are critical. His previous work includes significant contributions at VyOS Networks and 46 Labs, where he worked on integrating VPP as a high-performance data plane and extending its capabilities for advanced L2 and L3 networking.
Building the next generation of DDoS mitigation at FastNetMon
At FastNetMon, Denys is helping us expand our capabilities in high-performance, programmable DDoS mitigation.
One of his key areas of focus is a new VPP-based inline DDoS mitigation project, currently operating under the working name FastACL. The project is designed to provide high-performance packet filtering directly in the data plane, complementing FastNetMon’s existing DDoS detection and traffic analysis capabilities.
The system uses VPP and DPDK to implement FlowSpec-style traffic filtering at up to 100 Gbps line rate, with dual-stack IPv4/IPv6 support and a flexible matching engine covering all 12 traffic-matching components defined by RFC 8955 and RFC 8956.
Denys is also working on integration with VPP policers, multi-worker processing, the VPP binary API, and CLI tooling — all with the goal of building a scalable mitigation platform capable of handling modern high-volume attacks while giving network operators precise control over how unwanted traffic is filtered.
From detection to mitigation
FastNetMon has long focused on giving network operators the ability to detect DDoS attacks quickly and understand exactly what is happening on their networks. As attack volumes and network capacities continue to grow, efficient mitigation at the data plane becomes increasingly important.
Our work on VPP-based inline filtering is part of that evolution.
Denys’ extensive experience with VPP, DPDK, SDN, NFV, and high-performance packet processing makes him a great addition to the team as we continue developing these capabilities.
We’re very pleased to have Denys at FastNetMon and look forward to building the next generation of DDoS protection together.
Welcome to FastNetMon, Denys!
