Product updates: March releases, Debian 13 support, and Bison router integration

We released two new versions of FastNetMon Advanced in March — 2.0.374 and 2.0.375 , introducing stability improvements, protocol enhancements, and new observability features. Alongside the release, we’ve added official support for Debian 13 (Trixie) and introduced new Bison router integration , enabling Flow Spec-based mitigation even on devices without native Flow Spec support.

Engineering insight: Understanding the BGP Monitoring Protocol (BMP)

BGP controls how traffic moves across the Internet, but observing its behaviour at scale can be challenging. BMP (BGP Monitoring Protocol) solves this by streaming detailed routing and peer information from routers to a central collector, giving operators real-time visibility into the control plane. This makes troubleshooting, monitoring, and auditing routing behaviour far more efficient, especially in large networks with hundreds of peers and complex policies.

We explored this topic with Brian Wilson, creator of the BGP Black Belt community and BGP educator:

Expanding the FastNetMon Engineering Team

We’re pleased to be working with Sergei Mamonov, who contributes to FastNetMon as a Senior Systems Engineer. Sergei brings more than 15 years of experience operating large-scale production infrastructure, strengthening our engineering efforts as FastNetMon adoption continues to grow across hosting providers, ISPs, and telecom operators worldwide.
