Frequently Asked Questions

What is the activation fee?

For monthly subscriptions, a one-time activation fee of $85 USD applies and is billed separately from the plan price.

 

Do you offer licences for more than 100G of total traffic?

Yes. If you require licences for higher bandwidth, a custom number of instances, or additional support tickets, you can request a custom quote from our sales team. Get in touch via sales@fastnetmon.com

 

How is monitored traffic calculated?

For licensing purposes, we calculate the average total bandwidth of your network over a one-month period. This includes the combined average of incoming and outgoing traffic across your entire network.

 

Can I license only part of my network?

No. Even if you plan to monitor only a portion of your network, the licence must cover the total bandwidth of the entire network. In complex or distributed network environments, this can be discussed with our sales team on a case-by-case basis.

 

Can you provide an example of a traffic calculation?

Yes. If your network averages 10G inbound and 20G outbound traffic, you will need a 40G licence. If your network averages 40G inbound and 10G outbound traffic, you will need a 100G licence.

 

What is an instance?

An instance refers to a separate installation of FastNetMon on an individual server.

For example, if you operate two data centres or PoPs and run FastNetMon independently in each location with separate configurations, you will need two instances.

For licences that allow multiple instances, total bandwidth is calculated by summing the bandwidth across all instances.

High Availability (HA) deployments are treated the same way. For example, running FastNetMon in HA mode requires a licence covering two instances.

 

Are taxes included in the price?

All listed prices exclude UK VAT (20%), which applies only to companies based in the United Kingdom.

 

What billing cycle do you recommend?

We recommend annual subscriptions to reduce the risk of service interruptions caused by payment delays or failed transactions.

 

What payment options are available?

We support several payment options to accommodate different customer needs. You can pay by credit card (including American Express) using either a monthly or annual subscription, or via PayPal on a monthly or annual basis. For annual subscriptions, we also offer international bank transfers to our UK bank account. Customers based in the US can use automated ACH payments.

Can I try FastNetMon before purchasing?

Yes. If you’re unsure whether FastNetMon is the right fit, you can start with a free one-month trial.

 

How is my data handled during the order process?

We track and analyse order-related information for fraud prevention and to improve the overall customer experience on our website.

 

How was monitored traffic calculated before 4 October 2024?

Before 4 October 2024, licensing was based on the 95th percentile of traffic over a one-month period, calculated in the direction with higher bandwidth usage.

 

Can I transfer a licence purchased directly from FastNetMon to a Partner or Reseller?

No. Licences purchased directly from FastNetMon cannot be transferred to Partners or Resellers, as partners operate under separate pricing agreements that apply only to customers they onboard themselves.
